It’s about time that Ryan Gosling starred in an action comedy. Not that he hasn’t before, but we’re hoping he does it again, and this time with SNL star Mikey Day along for the ride.

Day showed up in support of Gosling at the Fall Guy premiere as part of a stunt (yes, that is a pun), and after Gosling walked the carpet as himself in a mint-green suit, he returned with Day, dressed up as live-action versions of Beavis and Butt-Head.

If you missed out on Gosling’s recent SNL hosting gig, then this likely feels like it’s coming out of left field. On the April 13 broadcast of the show, Gosling and Day dressed up as the characters for a sketch starring Heidi Gardner and Kenan Thompson as a news anchor and a professor specializing in AI, respectively. The two attempted to have a serious discussion about the perils of unregulated AI, but were distracted by Gosling and Day, who were unaware of how much they resembled Beavis and Butt-Head. Trust me, it’s more fun to watch it than to read about it, especially if you love when cast members break character on SNL.

If there was any red carpet on which to dress up as Beavis, the premiere for a comedic film is probably your best bet ⏤ and The Fall Guy, starring Gosling alongside Emily Blunt, looks like a great watch. Gosling stars as Colt Seavers, a professional stunt performer for action films who quits the business after a near-fatal accident. When he finds out his ex-girlfriend (Blunt) is directing her first film, he returns to the field to help save her movie, their relationship, and potentially, the world.

David Lietch, known for films like John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and Hobbs & Shaw, directed the film, and with those other movies under his belt, I’m hopeful that this one cements Gosling as the action star he should be. Not that he needs it; one look at his filmography shows that Gosling has picked his share of great roles over the years. But if there’s any actor who can pull off basically every movie genre known to man, my bet’s on Gosling.

You can watch Gosling in The Fall Guy, playing in theaters May 3. Sadly, I don’t think you’ll see Beavis or Butt-Head ⏤ or anyone who resembles them ⏤ in the film. But if we get our way, both will be headed to the big screen at some point very soon.

‘Blue Lock’ season 2 release window and rumors https://wegotthiscovered.com/anime/blue-lock-season-2-release-window-and-rumors/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/anime/blue-lock-season-2-release-window-and-rumors/#respond Tue, 07 May 2024 09:55:41 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1621779 Things are heating up as season 2 approaches.]]>

Blue Lock is one of the hottest new sports anime and has been among our favorite soccer anime series since it began airing in late 2022. The first season ended on a suspenseful note in early 2023, but thankfully, we won’t have to wait much longer for season 2.

Based on the manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro, Blue Lock follows Yoichi Isagi, a high school soccer player who joins the secretive training regimen, Blue Lock. Blue Lock is led by the eccentric coach Ego Jinpachi, who aims to find the best striker for Japan’s national soccer team by taking 300 high school strikers and putting them through a survival boot camp. The manga was first published in 2018 and quickly became popular; Blue Lock was the best-selling manga series in the first half of 2023, according to Anime News Network.

While its premise is more or less grounded in reality, Blue Lock makes each match look like a high-stakes, super-powered bout. The show’s stylized action sequences have not only captured the attention of worldwide audiences but have inspired big-budget Hollywood productions. After the show’s successful first season, viewers are looking forward to Blue Lock‘s highly-anticipated second.

When will season 2 of Blue Lock be released? Blue Lock season 2 release window

Thankfully, a second season of Blue Lock was confirmed shortly after the end of the first season. Not only that but a movie was also confirmed to be in the worksBlue Lock Episode Nagi and Blue Lock season 2 have planned 2024 release dates. While an exact date has not been announced for either project, the team behind Episode Nagi has confirmed the film will premiere in Japan in Spring 2024.

The official Blue Lock Twitter account has now confirmed the second season will come out in October 2024. More details will emerge the closer we get to that date but we can’t wait.

What will season 2 of Blue Lock be about? Plot rumors, explained

Season 1 ended with the main players of the Blue Lock program advancing to the Third Selection. The remaining 35 players will eventually form a team of 11 with the goal of going up against Japan’s U20 team. The stakes are as high as ever; the match will decide whether the Blue Lock program ultimately continues or shuts down.

The first season covered about half of the published manga, so it’s safe to assume the second season will span a similar length. We can hardly wait for Blue Lock to return but until then, we’ll catch up on the other anime in our watch lists!

SEVENTEEN: All 17 Is Right Here songs, ranked https://wegotthiscovered.com/music/seventeen-all-17-is-right-here-songs-ranked/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/music/seventeen-all-17-is-right-here-songs-ranked/#respond Tue, 07 May 2024 09:41:20 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1691690 Say the name, Seventeen! ]]>

Seventeen has come a long way from their Seventeen TV days. The 13-member boy group have established themselves as one of the biggest groups in K-pop since their debut in 2015, and to celebrate, they just dropped a compilation album titled 17 is Right Here

The album consists of two discs: one featuring a handful of new songs and versions of the group’s Japanese singles re-recorded in Korean, while the other disc is made up of nearly all of Seventeen’s Korean singles. 17 is Right Here is a hefty album as a result, and takes a little over an hour to listen to in full.

I like Seventeen and I like a challenge, so I took it upon myself to rank every song on the two discs. Seventeen has released some fantastic music during their career and re-listening to nearly all of their singles for this list was a delight.

That being said, I found I have a preference for their earlier work and this list will definitely reflect that. If you disagree with this list (honestly, I probably will too in an hour or two), that’s totally fair. Musical taste is subjective and there is no “right” way to appreciate it. I hope you’ll still enjoy reading this and listening to Seventeen’s new compilation album!

32. “Power of Love (Korean Ver.)”

Seventeen released this perfectly fine ballad just in time for the holidays. It’s lovely but not something I return to often.

31. “Dream (Korean Ver.)”

“Dream” is another relaxing song originally released near the holidays. This one is more my style but I don’t find it as exciting as some of the group’s other work.

30. “Lalali”

Songs by Seventeen’s hip-hop team are always great.

29. “F*ck My Life”

I love when Seventeen releases a “healing” song and “F*ck My Life” is a good addition.

28. “Spell”

This is another great track from Seventeen’s performance team but my favorite is still “Lilili Yabbay.

27. “Happy Ending (Korean Ver.)”

Seventeen’s Japanese singles are often underrated in my opinion, and “Happy Ending” is no exception. The chorus is catchy but it borders on too repetitive for me.

26. “_World”

I really like “_World” and think it’s a great retro-inspired track in the same vein as HYBE labelmates BTS’ “Dynamite.” That’s also my problem with the song; it would sound similarly great if another group recorded it instead.

25. “Fallin’ Flower”

The music video for “Fallin’ Flower” is one of my favorites and the song is beautiful as well.

24. “Cheers to Youth”

It’s still too soon to tell, but this might be my new favorite Vocal Team song.

23. “Hot”

“Hot” has one of my favorite pre-choruses in K-pop but it also doesn’t really feel like a Seventeen song to me. I appreciate how versatile the group is and that they can pull off concepts like this even if they’re not my favorite from them.

22. “24H (Korean Ver.)”

Seventeen takes a stab at a very trendy sound and pulls it off just as well as you’d expect.

21. Not Alone (Korean Ver.)”

I really love Seventeen’s “healing” and motivational songs. They really pull off this concept!

20. “Super”

“Super” is a performance song through and through. This is made for the stage and is pure spectacle in the best way.

19. “Maestro”

It’s hard to tell exactly how I’ll feel about “Maestro” as a single given how new it is, but for now this feels like a good spot. Love the beat switch-ups in this one.

18. “Home”

You know Seventeen has a great discography when I rank a song like “Home” at 18. I still love the song’s fake-out antidrop just as much now as I did in 2019 when it was released.

17. “Ima -Even if the world ends tomorrow (Korean Ver.)”

I love a good song that sounds like an anime opening.

16. “Boom Boom”

Surprisingly, I didn’t like “Boom Boom” all that much when it first came out. Now though, I recognize it as the classic Seventeen song it is and I can’t help but bop along whenever I hear it.

15. “Thanks”

Despite being one of those fans, I am typically not a fan of songs where K-pop groups express gratitude to their fans; however, “Thanks” is the best take on this trope I’ve heard. The boys are emoting with this one and I love it.

14. “Fear”

“Fear” differs from many of the songs in Seventeen’s wheelhouse but it works for me. I especially enjoy how the instrumental drops out when Jeonghan opens the second verse. It’s a cool way to keep the song interesting and play with listeners‘ expectations.

13. “Ready to Love”

“Ready to Love” is another great song I didn’t like at first. I know; I really need to reassess my fave’s discographies more so I don’t miss out on great music!

12. “Rock With You”

“Rock With You” sounds like the song that a band would play at the end of a feel-good early 2000s movie and I mean that in the best way.

11. “Home;Run”

Like many Carats, I fell in love with Seventeen’s theatrical sound and I love when they call back to it. It’s their signature for a reason; no other group is doing it like this. I’d love to see more of this sound in K-pop.

10. “Call Call Call! (Korean Ver.)”

Can you believe I didn’t like this song either at first? It took me a while but now I’m all aboard the “Call Call Call!” train.

9. “Oh My!”

“Oh My!” is a chill summer track I always return to. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel but it does exactly what it set out to do and does it well.

8. “Pretty U”

To me, “Pretty U” is a quintessential Seventeen song. It might not be their best but it’s one of their most memorable and a fun one to see live.

7. “Don’t Wanna Cry”

Seventeen’s 2017 take on a trendy sound was a great career choice for them. This was their biggest song at the time and I still hear its influence in K-Pop even now. A classic.

6. “God of Music”

Many K-Pop groups turn away from earlier brighter concepts as their careers progress and Seventeen has definitely explored more intense sounds as of late. The funky “God of Music” proves they can still thrive in a brighter soundscape.

5. “Clap”

“Clap” takes Seventeen’s motivational, theatrical sound and adds a little rock edge to it. The result is a fun and energetic song that doesn’t get nearly as much appreciation as it should.

4. “Left & Right”

Their first song after Pledis was acquired by HYBE, “Left & Right” is a catchy addition to their discography. Try not to get the hook stuck in your head.

3. “Adore U”

“Adore U” is Seventeen’s debut song and a prediction of great things to come. It still holds up as well today as it did in 2015.

2. “Mansae”

Seventeen’s second single “Mansae” (which means “Hurray”) is also one of their best. The song playfully but expertly combines pop melodies with hip-hop elements all while keeping things funky.

1. “Very Nice”

“Very Nice” is not only Seventeen’s magnum opus (so far) it’s basically a perfect K-Pop song. If we lived in a perfect world, this would have topped the charts for months but I’m glad it’s gained more appreciation over the years.

Met Gala Guest List 2024: K-Pop Guests Anticipated To Appear https://wegotthiscovered.com/events/met-gala-guest-list-2024-k-pop-guests-anticipated-to-appear/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/events/met-gala-guest-list-2024-k-pop-guests-anticipated-to-appear/#respond Mon, 06 May 2024 23:03:28 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1691644 K-Pop idols are in fashion. ]]>

Today is the fashion world’s Super Bowl: The Met Gala is finally here and ready to stream. As usual, viewers can expect a host of (hopefully) well-dressed celebrities in attendance, including some of our favorite K-Pop stars.

This year’s theme is “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” so expect archival pieces, sleepwear-inspired looks, and lots of “groundbreaking” florals. As usual, the Gala accompanies the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibition of the same name. The new exhibit puts fashion so fragile it can never be worn again on display so it can be celebrated even in this new stage of its life.

Every year, fashion-lovers unite to watch the Gala and critique attendees’ ensembles, usually from the comfort of our couches. It’s a fun way to live vicariously through the fashion world’s “elite” and a way to exercise our own sartorial muscle. In past years, the Met Gala has seen more K-Pop stars in attendance, like Blackpink’s Jennie. Who will we see this year?

Is Stray Kids showing up?

Earlier this week, Stray Kids member Seungmin nonchalantly revealed he and the other members were preparing for the Met Gala. Seemingly unaware of the metapohorical bomb he’d dropped on Stays, he and the group remained quiet about the Gala until today.

The group’s official TikTok account shared a video teasing the group’s participation later tonight. Members Hyunjin and Felix of the group have been respectively tapped as Versace and Tommy Hilfiger brand ambassadors so fashion is definitely on their radar.

Vogue confirmed as the Met Gala began that all eight members of the group walked the red carpet wearing Tommy Hilfiger suits and peacoats. When revealed, the peacoat’s lining pays homage to the American flag. Patriotic!

At least half of Blackpink could be in your area

Both Jennie and Rosé of Blackpink have attended the Met Gala in the past. Rumors are swirling that the two will appear at this year’s soiree after Rosé shared a picture of her and Jennie strolling in New York earlier this week.

All of Blackpink are associated with high-end brands. Jennie reps Chanel, Rosé wore YSL at her Met Gala appearance, and Lisa and Jisoo are brand ambassadors for Celine and Dior, respectively. If any K-Pop group would be a great fit for the Met Gala, it’s them.

Any wildcards?

We’re still waiting to see who all will show up at this year’s event and I’m hoping for a surprise. CL made history alongside Blackpink’s Rosé as the first female K-pop artist to attend the Met Gala when she made a surprise appearance in 2021. Back in 2013, Psy and Super Junior member Siwon were the first K-pop idol’s to attend and in recent years, NCT’s Johnny and soloist/GOT7 member Jackson Wang have attended the event.

It’s hard to predict who might make an appearance — I mean, it’s a surprise for a reason — but I know I’m not alone when I say I’d love to see a BTS member attend. We all know Jungkook would devour a Met Gala look. For a true wildcard, I’d love to see a Twice or ATEEZ member show up as well.

Is TikTok Shop legit and safe? https://wegotthiscovered.com/social-media/is-tiktok-shop-legit-and-safe/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/social-media/is-tiktok-shop-legit-and-safe/#respond Mon, 06 May 2024 07:33:15 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1618707 Is it too good to be true? ]]>

TikTok is constantly rolling out new features to make the app more convenient for its users. While some of them are met with a less than warm reception, reviews of the new TikTok Shop have been mostly positive, although some users are concerned as to how safe it is and whether product listings are legitimate.

If you’ve opened the TikTok app at all in the last few months, you’ve likely noticed videos with a clickable button calling you to shop a product in the video. Tapping on the button takes you to an area of TikTok where you can buy lip gloss, kitchen appliances, and new jeans, usually at a discounted price so good it’s hard to believe.

Could that skepticism be warranted? TikTok Shop is incredibly easy to use and touts itself as safe for both consumers and business owners, so here’s all we know about its safety measures.

Is TikTok Shop safe for businesses?

TikTok makes money by taking a percentage of sales made on TikTok Shop, so be aware before you sign up as a seller. Many sellers, especially small businesses, have found themselves happily fulfilling a large amount of orders thanks to the feature, but your mileage may vary. Other business owners have complained of late payments and issues even setting up their TikTok Shops. As with most online marketplaces, do your research before deciding if selling is beneficial for your business.

Is TikTok Shop safe for consumers?

I thought this was going to be so small I’m in shock 🫢 #leatherpurse

It’s as safe to shop on TikTok Shop as it is to shop on most online marketplaces; you should exercise as much caution as you would when making a purchase on, say, Amazon or Etsy. TikTok has reported all merchants and product listings must adhere to its policies, as well as community guidelines.

If you’re worried about sharing your credit card information with TikTok, be aware it uses PayPal and Stripe (both of which it describes as “trusted third party payment platforms”) when processing payments. Both are frequently used by online retailers, and are considered relatively safe. TikTok claims US users’ data is stored in the US and as part of Project Texas, they are actively in the process of deleting stored data. None of this means data breaches aren’t a possibility, but TikTok Shop is about as safe as any online shop.

That being said, some users have fallen victim to scams on TikTok Shop, so some false listings definitely slip through the cracks. Most listings are legit, but be as careful as you would using any other online marketplace to minimize your risk of being scammed.

Claims of scams on TikTok Shop

While many TikTok Shop retailers are legit, there have been reported incidents of customers receiving fraudulent and poorly produced products, if at all. Much like on other online stores such as AliExpress, product quality can vary drastically. Some creators have even accused other shops of selling counterfeit versions of their products for a drastically reduced price.

If you really can’t pass up a deal on TikTok Shop, there are ways to minimize your risk of being scammed. Before you buy from a retailer, search their business name to see if they have a legitimate presence outside of TikTok. Is there a way to contact them in case of an issue with your order? Do they have positive reviews on social media and other sites? If you’re purchasing a name-brand product, are you buying the product from an official seller?

Scams and mishaps can still happen even if you’ve been careful. TikTok’s “Customer Order Cancellation, Return and Refund Guidelines” is regularly updated and can be a great resource if you have issues with your order. Customers can request a refund within six days of their order’s delivery date for a number of reasons, including defective or undelivered items.

If you think you’ve been scammed, you can report the seller directly to TikTok or to the Better Business Bureau.

Demi Moore sports ferocious leopard print bikini, proving 61 is the new 40 https://wegotthiscovered.com/news/demi-moore-sports-ferocious-leopard-print-bikini-proving-61-is-the-new-40/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/news/demi-moore-sports-ferocious-leopard-print-bikini-proving-61-is-the-new-40/#respond Thu, 02 May 2024 21:43:59 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1690477 Give us Moore. ]]>

I know what you’re thinking; there are few things we can be sure of in our world: grass is green, the sky is blue, and Demi Moore is one beautiful woman. Yes, but sometimes it bears repeating.

Moore reminded us herself by posting a video of her spending time with her family on her Instagram earlier this week. Taking advantage of a recent TikTok trend, Moore shared a perfectly edited (by Feud actor Patrick Hilgart no less, who Moore tagged in her caption) video of her and her family running out of what looks to be a hotel room onto a sunny beach. No disrespect to the editing, of course, but we were more blown away by how great Moore looks in her bikini.

Since she first came on the scene as a member of the Brat Pack in the 1980s, Moore was recognized as a beautiful actress, sometimes to her detriment. She became the highest-paid woman in Hollywood when she received a salary of $12.5 million for her role in the 1996 film Striptease, but the same film almost derailed her career. “My salary for Striptease became something that I got punished for as opposed to celebrated,” Moore told Variety in a 2020 interview.

Early attempts at more “serious” roles, like G.I. Jane and Passion of Mind, were either met with harsh criticism or over-shadowed by her roles as more conventionally “sexy” characters. (Take this 2003 Rolling Stone review of Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle for example; Peter Travers writes, “Moore, 40, looks great in a bikini and doesn’t even try to act.” )

Seeing Moore looking objectively amazing in this bikini some 20 years after Full Throttle is simultaneously empowering but infuriating. A part of me is happy to see a woman looking so happy, fit, and honestly, youthful at an age women have historically been told is past their “prime.” It’s a similar feeling I get when I see Anne Hathaway, a woman who is 20 years Moore’s junior, being celebrated for embracing her sexuality in films like The Idea of You in her 40s, an age we don’t typically see actresses cast in these type of roles.

But another part of me is frustrated this discourse is even a thing. It shouldn’t be shocking to see women in their 40s, 60s, and beyond enjoying their lives and being hot. Heck, it shouldn’t be news to see women enjoying their lives and not being hot.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely nice to be recognized for the work you put in to look good, whatever that looks like to you. Moore looks undeniably great, but she has a lot of other stuff going for her, like her activist work, her acting career, and her dedication to her loved ones. Those things are just as valuable, if not more so, than her enviable muscle tone.

The ‘Bridgerton’ aesthetic, explained https://wegotthiscovered.com/netflix/the-bridgerton-aesthetic-explained/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/netflix/the-bridgerton-aesthetic-explained/#respond Tue, 30 Apr 2024 09:10:12 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1689165 And why we're so obsessed with it. ]]>

Unless you’ve been living under one heck of a rock, you’ve heard of Bridgerton, the bodice-ripping Netflix series based on the romance novels by Julia Quinn. Even if you’ve managed to avoid it, you’ll recognize the period drama’s distinctive dreamy aesthetic.

The show, which follows a different member of the Bridgerton family and their eventual love interest each season, is set in a fictional England circa the Regency era and appeals to the Jane Austen fan in all of us. You know the Bridgerton aesthetic when you see it but here are the specifics.

What is the Bridgerton aesthetic?

The Bridgerton aesthetic encompasses the show’s fashion, decor, and general vibe. The fashion of Bridgerton is probably the easiest aspect of this aesthetic to identify; the show’s costumes are heavily inspired by clothing from England’s Regency era, which roughly spanned the years between 1795 and 1837. Think dresses with empire waists, puff sleeves, and lots of delicate pastels.

Bridgerton’s costume team takes Regency-era fashion (lovingly dubbed “Regencycore” by fans of the show) into account but they’re not beholden to it. Season 1 costume designer, Ellen Mirojnick — who readers may recognize for her work on films like Basic Instinct and more recently, Oppenheimer — told Vogue the goal was to expand on the era rather than perfectly recreate it. To do so, Mirojnick and her team analyzed fashion from the time as well as color palettes and designs from the 1950s and ‘60s. They also took liberties with details and accessories; ladies from the Regency era were certainly not mixing colors and wearing sequins, no matter how cool it looks on screen.

“We got a flavor of it and then it was about looking at the different silhouettes and shapes while knowing that this had to be aspirational, as opposed to historically accurate. We knew that we had to shift the color palette and the fabrications, so from the 19th century, I immediately went to the 1950s and 1960s.”

Ellen Mirojnick, Vogue

Bridgerton’s costumes have been the subject of much debate regarding their historic accuracy, or inaccuracies. You can find dozens of video essays littering YouTube dissecting the show’s fashion design, some praising the imaginative direction and others lamenting the lack of bonnets (a valid take in my humble opinion).

The show allocated a costume house made up of 238 people under Mirojnick’s leadership who created nearly 8,000 costumes for the first season alone, and they’re all aware of the scrutiny. In an interview with Slate, Mirojnick acknowledged that fashion historians were “going to kill [her]” but “being 100 percent historically correct was not on our agenda at all… we’re telling a luscious story, and we’re hoping that you use your imagination as we tell it, and you get sucked in, and you love the story that you’re watching.”

The aesthetic goes beyond just fashion. In a lot of ways, the show’s general atmosphere and lifestyle the Bridgerton characters lead is part of its charm as well. A cursory “Bridgerton Aesthetic” Pinterest search yields pictures of women in gowns, men in their “dandy” best, countryside manors, fields full of flowers, and tea. So much tea. The Bridgerton aesthetic definitely doesn’t adhere to any particular era — corsets over dresses, empire-waist gowns of varied lengths, silk gloves, and stays are abundantly recommended for lovers of the show’s style. The overarching theme seems to be a well-curated, leisurely lifestyle where one feels at home when dressing for a ball or hosting a tea party at home.

Given the relatively short period the Regency era occupies in history, we love using it as a backdrop in media. In recent years, we’ve seen an uptick in adaptations of Jane Austen novels, from the loved Emma to the not-so-loved Persuasion. There’s something about the strict social etiquette, ostentatious displays of wealth, and obsession with making the “perfect” match that appeals to us centuries later. In media, we’re equal parts critical of the time period (deeply patriarchal social norms, underlying and often unaddressed poverty among those not as fortunate as the Bridgertons) as we are in admiration of it. For its part, Bridgerton‘s diverse casting and whimsical fashion make it easier for us to overlook the era’s political climate and immerse ourselves in a fantastical interpretation of the period.

Whether it makes you want to don your best gown and dance at a ball all night long or write a dissertation on its lack of historically accurate head coverings, you can’t help but admire the Bridgerton crew’s dedication to the aesthetic. They’ve managed to create an ambitious and distinct world within a recognizable time period and make it their own. Whether that’s a good thing is up to you, dearest gentle reader.

What happened to Lucy on ‘NCIS’? https://wegotthiscovered.com/tv/what-happened-to-lucy-on-ncis/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/tv/what-happened-to-lucy-on-ncis/#respond Mon, 29 Apr 2024 10:22:41 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1688707 Is she on a special mission or has she been forgotten? ]]>

Fans of NCIS: Hawai’i are used to solving the show’s many mysteries before the characters can put the pieces together themselves. But even the most astute were confused by Lucy’s absence in season 3.

NCIS: Hawai’i is one of the best spinoff series in the NCIS universe and follows a team of Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents based out of the Pearl Harbor Field Office. What makes these shows so fun are the cast of well-written agents, so when one goes missing without an explanation, viewers notice.

Lucy, played by Yasmine Al-Bustami, disappeared in a recent episode while the rest of the team investigated a case together. Fans quickly took to social media and tried to puzzle out what happened to Lucy.

Where is NCIS’ Lucy?

Lucy was missing from several episodes this season but fans especially took notice when she wasn’t accounted for during the episode, “License to Thrill.” Even weirder still, none of the other characters acknowledged her absence.

This isn’t the first time Lucy’s missed some episodes; in season 2, she was gone for about eight episodes as she worked on an agent afloat assignment. In reality, Al-Bustami was back on the mainland filming for The Chosen, where she’s a part of the main cast. This time around, though, the show did not explain what Lucy was up to during her time away.

Some fans speculated that Lucy is off on a secret mission as part of NCIS’ Elite division. Sam (LL Cool J) was revealed to be on the island on a special Elite mission and during an interview with TV Insider, he theorized Lucy would be interested in Elite work. Granted, this was before NCIS: Hawai’i was canceled by CBS — so who knows what’s going on with this subplot now?

Hopefully, the show will reveal where Lucy’s been as the final season finishes airing. I want to believe that she’s gone for a reason and not that the writers just forgot about a fan-favorite character for several episodes.

The series finale of NCIS: Hawai’i will air on May 6 on CBS.

What is Liz from ’90 Day Fiance’s ethnicity? https://wegotthiscovered.com/tv/what-is-liz-from-90-day-fiances-ethnicity/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/tv/what-is-liz-from-90-day-fiances-ethnicity/#respond Mon, 29 Apr 2024 09:54:09 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1688716 Like it or not, Liz is moving on without Big Ed.]]>

Whether you love them or hate them (though let’s be real, it’s probably the latter), “Big” Ed Brown and Liz Woods certainly made their time on 90 Day Fiancé memorable. Liz met Big Ed while waitressing at a San Diego restaurant he frequented and the two sparked a turbulent, often on-camera, relationship

The two were featured in a number of 90 Day Fiancé specials as they tried to patch together their off-and-on relationship. They didn’t seem like a healthy couple but we can’t say they weren’t entertaining!

Although Ed got his start on the show when he was linked with Rose Vega, Liz was a later addition to the cast. As an American couple, however, the two were a far cry from the show’s original premise.

What is Liz from 90 Day Fiancé’s ethnicity?

Liz is a single mom and former restaurant manager from San Diego, California. In a now-deleted Instagram post she described herself as multiracial and her Hispanic grandparents were seen in the show. Even so, the fact that Liz was born and raised in San Diego, California, means some viewers have wondered why the show followed her and Big Ed at all.

The show’s premise is based on the K-1 visa which allows the fiancé of a U.S. citizen to legally enter the U.S. for 90 days. If the couple has proved their relationship is legitimate, they can marry within the 90-day period and the foreign spouse can apply for a Green Card. Since both Liz and Big Ed are American, neither of them fit the criteria for a K-1 visa

Since Big Ed was such a hit with audiences when he first appeared on the show, we’re guessing the 90 Day Fiancé crew made an exception for him and Liz. Perhaps viewers who don’t enjoy following the pair will be glad to know the two have since split. Liz seems happily in love with her new man in San Diego and Big Ed is, well, Big Ed. We wish Liz the best in her new relationship, whether she stays in the 90 Day Fiancé universe or not.

Will there be ‘Road To Kingdom’ season 2? https://wegotthiscovered.com/music/will-there-be-road-to-kingdom-season-2/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/music/will-there-be-road-to-kingdom-season-2/#respond Sat, 27 Apr 2024 18:43:16 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1688346 More special performances in K-pop, please!]]>

Road to Kingdom helped multiple underrated K-pop boy groups reach new levels of success when it first aired in 2020. It’s been years since the first season premiered and with more groups promoting than ever before, it’s about time for another season.

Before Road to Kingdom, Mnet, the broadcasting company behind shows like Produce 101, released a new reality show called Queendom in 2019. Queendom was different from recent Mnet shows in that it pit established girl groups and artists against each other in exciting live stages. It hearkened back to special stages from circa 2010 (a bygone era by K-pop standards) and gave fans some unique performances to enjoy. Road to Kingdom had a similar premise, but with a caveat; the show featured boy groups who had yet to win on a music show. These lesser-known groups would compete against each other and the winner would go on to compete in Kingdom, which would feature more established boy groups.

Premiering during the Covid-19 pandemic, Road to Kingdom gave K-pop fans, who were stuck at home, an escape from their woes. It also helped groups like ONF, whose performance of “The ‘We Must Love’” went platinum in my home, and The Boyz, who won the competition, gain new fans and exposure. Surely, Mnet’s not canceling this show?

Is there going to be a season 2 of Road to Kingdom?

Road to Kingdom will be returning, and soon. In a statement acquired via Soompi, Mnet confirmed plans to air a new season of the show later this year. Aside from a tentative date in late 2024, the show is still in the planning stages so there is no other information at this time.

The first season featured the groups ONF, The Boyz, Golden Child, MCND, Pentagon, VERIVERY, and TO1. We can’t wait to see who competes this year!

Margot Robbie was spotted with Sarah J. Maas — Are they producing an ‘ACOTAR’ series? https://wegotthiscovered.com/tv/margot-robbie-was-spotted-with-sarah-j-maas-are-they-producing-an-acotar-series/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/tv/margot-robbie-was-spotted-with-sarah-j-maas-are-they-producing-an-acotar-series/#respond Sat, 27 Apr 2024 15:50:46 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1688349 Are they just friends or are they plotting something great? ]]>

Margot Robbie reportedly met up with Sarah J. Maas for a recent lunch. Normally two successful women meeting up wouldn’t be news, but speculation over the two teaming up for an ACOTAR adaptation is running rampant.

Robbie’s been on a producing roll lately; her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, has been behind some of the best movies and TV (Dollface, Barbie, Saltburn) in recent years. And while LuckyChap has tackled several genres, it has yet to produce anything fantasy. ACOTAR — also known by its full name, A Court of Thorns and Roses — is a perfect candidate for a live-action series. It has faeries, magic, romance, action, and political intrigue. What more could a viewer ask for?

Is Margot Robbie producing a series for Sarah J. Maas?

As of now, we have no idea if Robbie is working on the ACOTAR series but we sure hope she is. What we do know is that an ACOTAR series is definitely in the works, or at least it was as of Nov. 2023. Showrunner Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Outlander) was last said to be working on a series with Hulu but that’s where our intel stops.

It’s very possible Robbie’s interested in ACOTAR, but may I remind you, dear reader, that Maas has other books primed and ready for a live-action adaptation? Like, Throne of Glass, is right there, Robbie! Make it happen! Regardless of whether it was a business meeting or two fans meeting to gush over each other’s work, I hope to see more great work from Luckychap Entertainment and Maas in the future.

Does Law die in ‘One Piece’? https://wegotthiscovered.com/anime/does-law-die-in-one-piece/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/anime/does-law-die-in-one-piece/#respond Fri, 26 Apr 2024 22:11:27 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1688324 Not everyone can survive in the New World. ]]>

One of the things we love about One Piece is the colorful world and characters author Eiichiro Oda has created. Unfortunately, much like in the real world, bad things happen to people (or in this case, fictional pirates) we care about; even ones like Trafalgar Law.

Trafalgar D. Water Law is a fan-favorite One Piece character. Despite not being a member of the Straw Hats, he’s worked with the crew multiple times and notably helped take down Big Mom for good in Wano. Armed with the super-powerful Op-Op Fruit and his loyal crew, the Heart Pirates, Law is capable of taking on any challenge. Right?

Well, not exactly.

Law’s fate in One Piece, explained

The good news is that Law is alive. His crew, however, were possibly not as lucky.

After Wano, Law and Kid went their separate ways to confront their doom fate. Kid went to meet Shanks, while the Heart Pirates are ambushed by the Blackbeard Pirates who are after Law’s Road Poneglyph. Law definitely leveled up in my eyes after he and Kid defeated Big Mom but even still, he wasn’t a match for Blackbeard.

Fortunately for Law, Bepo was holding onto a pill from Chopper that would allow him to access his Sulong form even during the day. Bepo, now at full power, distracted the Blackbeard Pirates and ran off with Law before they could finish him off. Law asked Bepo to save the rest of the crew as well but Bepo refused, believing the Heart Pirates will make it through because they’re “survivors.” I wish I had your optimism, Bepo.

We haven’t seen Law since then and things weren’t looking great for him. Given how powerful his devil fruit is, it’s likely he’ll return in the future, with or without his crew. Oda doesn’t often kill characters but Law’s fate still serves as a reminder that nobody is safe in the New World.
