Every day, TikTok outdoes itself on Karen Sagas. It seems that these women have an internal competition as to who can push their temper, ignorance, and sense of entitlement further and further.

Unfortunately for all of the Karens terrorizing the streets, Joesphine Alarie has found a winner. And it’s not even close.

Josephine takes a train from Connecticut to Harlem, New York City to get home in the evening. On a rather crowded day, she finally found an empty seat across from an older woman. The woman promptly asked her to move so that she could put her feet up on Josephine’s seat.

@josephinealarie

Never thought I’d experience a Karen in real life 😭

♬ original sound – Joséphine Alarie

Naturally, since the train was crowded and she’d finally found a place to sit, Joesphine declined. After much back and forth, the woman decided she’d be putting her feet up anyway, whether Josephine was in the seat or not.

As the woman put her feet in Josephine’s face, around her leg, in her lap, and touching her thigh, Josephine continued to tell her to stop touching her. The incident quickly escalated as Josephine kept yelling at the woman to stop harassing her and the woman held strong in her stubborn obstinance.

Eventually, both train conductors and law enforcement got involved in the situation, but it only led to Josephine being escorted to another train car and the woman getting a slap on the wrist.

Once Josephine realized what was happening, she took some footage of the incident, and that combined with her own retelling left viewers with quite a few suggestions. Several urged her to go to the police for assault and harassment since the woman would not stop touching her or leave her alone. A few people presented more chaotic approaches to justice including taking the woman’s shoes and throwing them across the train, grappling her in a heel hook, and a “Birds of Prey Harley Quinn knee breaker.”

Others pointed out how horrifying it was that the woman was staying so calm while being so blatantly disrespectful, and trying so hard to continue doing it. They commended Josephine for keeping her computer, many admitting that, put in a similar situation, they would’ve been taken to jail.

Josephine chose not to get violent and instead figured out the name of the woman who was bending over backward to put her feet everywhere, and took that information to the police. In a later update, she noted that law enforcement told her that they couldn’t do anything to help her situation. Because Josephine had not been verbally threatened or blatantly put in harm’s way, she could not press charges.

Although many people asked, Josephine is staying on the safe side and declining to share this woman’s name. She smartly wants to stay on the right side of the law and doesn’t want anyone to take things too far and have it traced back to her. If the name gets out on its own…well, that’s out of her hands.

If you can find any justification for putting your feet in a seat that you did not pay for and harassing the person sitting there, then you may just be in a Karen League of your own. As for the rest of us who have to deal with it, it might be time for a support group.

Poor Josephine has survived her first Karen; with such a doozy, she’s had enough for a lifetime.

‘Screw Bank of America’: Woman with perfect credit score is brutally banned for life by BOA after getting scammed https://wegotthiscovered.com/social-media/screw-bank-of-america-woman-with-perfect-credit-score-is-brutally-banned-for-life-by-boa-after-getting-scammed/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/social-media/screw-bank-of-america-woman-with-perfect-credit-score-is-brutally-banned-for-life-by-boa-after-getting-scammed/#respond Tue, 07 May 2024 21:57:24 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1692139 'Sooooo Credit Union anyone?']]>

Nowadays, especially for you professionals recently out of college or trying to by house, having money in your checking account is a luxury few can afford.

Sometimes even paying of a credit card bill is a luxury few can afford. So having upwards of $10,000 sitting in a checking account is a stretch for most of us, right?

Tenille Sokolow posted TikTok asking the same question when she got a call from Bank of America informing her that she would be charged a maintenance fee for every month that her checking account was lower than $10,000.

She swears she could hear the employee laughing on the phone. Her outrage, which was echoed by many others, prompted @LilAnxiety1999 to share her own horror story with Bank of America, and the combo has people enraged.

She shares that she’s had an account with Bank of America since she was 17. They house her longest-standing credit card as well as multiple bank accounts. She’s never missed a payment or so much as an overdraft on any of her accounts. She’s 25-years-old and she works a regular, salaried position.

Unfortunately, she got scammed, but she was able to freeze and cancel all of her accounts before the scammer could get any money from her. Because she’d been such a solid and loyal customer, she didn’t think she’d have any trouble getting back into her Bank of America accounts, and at first, she didn’t.

But about a week after she got back into her account, she tried to log in only to find it locked again. Naturally, she called Bank of America and the customer service representative helped her change her username and password and get back into her account.

But this time, she could only see her credit card.

She’d heard horror stories about banking with Bank of America before so these were secondary accounts, but she still needed access to her checking and savings to pay her credit card bill. The customer service representative transferred her to an accounts representative.

Thsi account representative took down her name and her date of birth and told her that she was no longer eligible for a Bank of America checking or savings account. Essentially, they had decided she was no longer fit for these accounts, and had closed them on her behalf.

Naturally, she was very confused and upset and asked why they’d chosen to terminate her accounts. It turns out that’s something officials at Bank of America can just do, with no explanation necessary.

Now, without checking and savings, she’s also worried that they’re going to randomly cancel her longstanding credit card and ruin her credit. So she makes an appointment and goes to a Bank of America location in person, explaining her whole situation and her concerns. She asks them if she can get a written agreement stating that Bank of America won’t cancel her credit card without her permission. The employee tells her that she can’t speak on behalf of the company and when she asks for the manager he says the same thing.

They told her that when signed up she agreed that Bank of America could do whatever they wanted with her accounts. Then proceeded to advise that she open another credit card with another company and begin building credit elsewhere because they couldn’t give her any guarantee or reassurance.

Commenters are suggesting that she join a credit union instead, which is a not-for-profit organization that is a community-oriented way to keep money and take out loans, often eliminating fees and complicated agreements, according to My Credit Union.

Some chimed in with their own horror stories using Bank of America, pointing out that multiple lawsuits and legal troubles weren’t usually the mark of a good place to keep your money. Many had also had their accounts closed without their knowledge and one woman even said her husband had been banned from opening an account until 2135, despite never working with Bank of America.

Former employees even chimed in saying that even they would never bank there, echoing some of the same sentiments of the employees she talked to herself.

The general sentiment is “Credit Unions all the way” and it seems like people are even trying to start their own in the comments. @LilAnxiety1999 hasn’t updated on whether or not her credit card ever closed or how she got her money back, but she did make one thing very clear.

Her mantra going forward is, “Screw Bank of America.”

Disney dropped the first trailer for the new The Lion King prequel about the origin story of Simba’s father, Mufasa.

As seen in the teaser, Mufasa is in the same CGI style as the 2019 remake, and features many of the same cast members. It will also feature music by award-winning writer Lin-Manuel Miranda.

@billyeichner

This is very exciting. The first look at MUFASA: THE LION KING. Thrilled to be part of this new adventure, directed by Barry Jenkins. In Theaters Dec 20th, 2024! #mufasa

♬ original sound – Billy Eichner

The stacked cast of veteran actors also includes some brand new cast and characters. Here is a complete list of who we know will be returning for Mufasa: The Lion King.

Aaron Pierre

Foe and Brother actor Aarin Pierre will follow in the footsteps of James Earl Jones and play the young version of Simba’s father and titular character Mufasa. James Earl Jones is the only actor to ever take on the role of Mufasa, and it’s certainly an iconic one. A fresh, young voice is an exciting addition to Jones’s classic character.

Kelvin Harrison Jr.

Though many details of the movie are still under wraps, it does seem like it will delve into the relationship between Mufasa and his brother, Scar. Kelvin Harrison, Jr., who is known for Waves and Gully, will take on the complicated position of Taka, later Scar in this new adaptation.

Donald Glover

@mtvuk

Donald Glover is ready to let Childish Gambino go 😭💔 The final album will reportedly be a soundtrack to his upcoming movie Bando Stone & The New World 🎬 #ChildishGambino #DonaldGlover #Community #AwakenMyLove #Atavista #MTVCeleb

♬ original sound – 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐘

Donald Glover took on the role of older Simba from Matthew Broderick in the 2019 remake and will reprise it for Mufasa: The Lion King. The Community star and rapper delivered his interpretation of the character and with an all-new script and perspective, fans are excited to see what he does with the beloved character this time.

Billy Eichner

Billy Eichner of Billy on the Street, Parks and Recreation, and Bros will also be reprising his role as Timon from the 2019 film. He’ll play the bossy but loveable meerkat once again, although because the movie seems to be taking place in a past timeline, it’ll be interesting to see how Timon is incorporated into the film.

John Kani

John Kani followed in the footsteps of Robert Guillaume in 2019 when he took on the role of Rafiki in The Lion King remake. Now, he’s back. Also known for Black Panther and The Ghost and the Darkness, the actor’s iconic voice will be heard once again in the 2024 prequel.

Mads Mikkelsen

Mads Mikkelson is set to voice the character Kiros, who is described as a “formidable lion with big plans for his pride” by Variety. Since the producers and cast haven’t given very much away when it comes to the plot of the film, Mikkelson’s character remains very much a mystery. But knowing the Hannibal star, it’s sure to be memorable.

Thandiwe Newton

Thandiwe Newton, known for Westworld and The Pursuit of Happyness will join the ensemble as Scar AKA Taka’s mother, Eshe. This new prequel seems to be introducing several parents that created the heroes and villains we have begun to know and love, and it will be interesting to see how their dynamics come about.

Seth Rogen

You can’t have Timone without Pumbaa, so obviously Seth Rogen will be returning as the very loveable and very hungry warthog. Maybe if more nothing more than comic relief, it really wouldn’t be a Lion King movie without this iconic duo, and Rogan and Eichner are well equipped to handle it.

Tiffany Boone

Simba’s mother, Sarabi, who was played by Alfre Woodard in 2019 and Madge Sinclair in 1994, is getting a fresh, young voice. Tiffany Boone of The Chi, The Midnight Sky, and Nine Perfect Strangers are next in line to play the matriarch of Pride Rock. Since the movie takes place as Mufasa grows up, he and Sarabi may just get a love story of their own.

Kagiso Lediga

South African comedian, actor, writer, and director Kagiso Lediga will voice Young Rafiki, following in the footsteps of Robert Guillaume and John Kani. It’s hard to imagine the wise, seemingly centuries-old monkey as young, but Lediga is sure to put a fun and surprising rendition of the new facets of the character.

Lennie James

Mufasa: The Lion King will introduce the parents of Scar and Mufasa, starting with Scar’s Father, Obasi. The Walking Dead star Lennie James will take over the position of raising one of Disney’s most infamous villains.

Anika Noni Rose

Mufasa’s mother, Afia, is played by Anika Noni Rose. You may recognize her voice from her iconic role as Disney’s Tiana in Princess & the Frog. If that movie tells you anything about her, you know that we’re in for a real treat. She’s also graced the screen over the years in Dreamgirls and For Colored Girls.

Keith David

Mufasa’s father Masego will be adorned with the voice of Keith David. You may recognize his sweet and soulful voice from another Disney favorite, as well. David and Anika Noni Rose are giving fans a little Princess & the Frog reunion since he played Dr. Facilier alongside her Tiana. Hopefully, they’ll get along a little better this time.

Preston Nyman

In the voice of a possibly younger Zazu will be industry rookie, Preston Nyman. He follows in the footsteps of Rowan Atkinson and John Oliver to play the strict, uptight red-billed hornbill. Nyman previously did voice work for Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdon and 3rd & Bird.

Beyoncé

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter played older Nala in the 2019 The Lion King remake, and her voice will be gracing our screens once again in the 2024 rendition. Need we go over her resume? As the most awarded artist in Grammy’s history, she’s sure to handle reprising the role with the same grace and ease she brings to every other vocal project.

Blue Ivy Carter

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, will make her acting debut as Simba and Nala’s daughter, Kiara. At only 12 years old, Blue Ivy already has a Grammy, has sung and produced alongside her parents, and even danced on Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour. Naturally voice acting as the child of two iconic Disney characters is next on her bucket list.

With such a stacked cast, excitement is already growing for Mufasa: The Lion King. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too much longer. The film will be available in theaters on December 20, 2024.

Does ‘Bridgerton’ star Luke Thompson have a girlfriend in real life? https://wegotthiscovered.com/celebrities/does-bridgerton-star-luke-thompson-have-a-girlfriend-in-real-life/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/celebrities/does-bridgerton-star-luke-thompson-have-a-girlfriend-in-real-life/#respond Mon, 06 May 2024 19:21:50 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1691496 Is there a showmance going on?]]>

Shondaland and the Bridgerton casting team knew what they were doing when they gave us the Bridgerton men.

Anthony, Benedict, and Colin only seem to get better with every passing season and it’s all the internet can do not to lose their minds over them. Johnathan Bailey’s popularity hightened graced our screen with his own season and the same seems to be at play for Luke Newton and the upcoming third season.

But, Luke Thompson seems to generating just as much traction with fans despite his character Benedict never having a season of his own.

The artsy, bohemian brother has captured the hearts of viewers, and actor Luke Thompson is reeping all of the benefits. Of course, with the TikTok edits and adoring fans comes the public’s need to know everything about his personal life, especially if any of us has a chance with him.

Thompson keeps a relatively low profile. His social media seems mostly dedicated to work, posting often about Bridgerton and other projects that he’s a part of.

But online super-sleuths on Reddit think he might be linked to his Bridgerton co-star Harriet Cains.

Cains plays Phillipa Featherington on Bridgerton, one of Penelope AKA Lady Whistledown’s older sisters. According to US Magazine , the pair sparked dating rumors in early 2024. They recently stepped out onto the BAFTA film awards carpet in January looking extra cozy.

Fans, naturally, had thoughts online and many of theme expressed support for the sweet., but unexpected couple. Although several chimed in in the comments section that the two had been close since the show started and their friendship blossomed into a relationship.

Neither Thompson nor Cains have commented public on their alleged relationship, although neither of them are known to do a lot of press or red carpet appearances. As promo continued to ramps up for the new season, fans may get to see a little extra from Thompson and Cains here and there, although maybe not as a duo. But leave it to fans to masterfully decode any and every gesture, nod, or comment.

@bridgertonnetflix

Society may surprise you yet, Mr. Bridgerton…

Afterall, if there’s one thing Bridgerton fans love its a little tension on the red carpet. Unfortunatley for die hard Benedict fans, all eyes are on Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton when it comes to romantic tension.

Maybe once Benedict’s season role’s around, we’ll finally get some insight into Thompson’s romantic life. Until then, occasional glimpses of Thompson and Cains on a red carpet here and there will have to do.

The biggest fashion event of the year falls on the first Monday of May. Since 1948, stars have graced the Metropolitan Museum of Art with themed looks that range from dazzling to completely jaw-dropping.

Fans will see their favorite celebrities walk the carpet of this year’s Met Gala on May 6.

Each year the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York produces an exhibit honoring a theme, person, or moment in fashion. The gala itself honors the opening of the exhibit every year by creating a dress code that alignment with its subject. This year’s exhibit is titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

The actual exhibition within the museum is centered around honoring pieces of fashion that are so old or delicate that they can never be worn again. Meaning that these masterpieces have been forever put to rest or sleep.

According to NBC News, not only is it an ode to one-of-a-kind craftsmanship, but the exhibition is divided into three sections: earth, land, and sea. Each will have unique relics dedicated to celebrating that aspect of nature, emphasizing the emotional art of design and its ties to our natural world, according to MET curator Andrew Bolton in Vogue.

Obviously, stars can’t wear pieces that have been retired from carpet couture, although Kim Kardashian has tried. That’s where the dress code differs from the theme itself. The dress code for the past several years has been created by Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour and her co-hosts. The dress code aligns with the exhibition theme but it’s never exactly the same.

This year’s is “The Garden of Time.”

The dress codes are usually very illusive and interpretable, making it so that each look can be different. Too tight of a dress code makes for a boring carpet. The dress code was inspired by J.G. Ballard’s short story by the same name, which is a science fiction story about the brevity of nature.

@oldloserinbrooklyn

All the Met Gala spoilers i could dig up. SO EXCITED. #metgala #metgala2024

♬ original sound – Mandy Lee

Online sleuths are already creeping on celebrity stylists to find hints about potential interpretations and celebrity appearances. Stylists could lean into the short story reference and make allusions to climate change, wilting flowers, or changing seasons. They could take inspiration from the exhibition theme itself, as some people have done in the past, with nods to floral fairytales. Or even dress as nature itself.

Designers including Alaia, Simone Rocha, Balenciaga, and Loewe are all rumored, or at least hoped to make high-fashion appearances on the red carpet this evening.

Of course, we can hope, pray, and predict all we want, but the intrigue of the Met Gala is nobody knows what will happen until those stars step out onto the red carpet.

The MLB uniform controversy, explained https://wegotthiscovered.com/sports/the-mlb-uniform-controversy-explained/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/sports/the-mlb-uniform-controversy-explained/#respond Tue, 30 Apr 2024 19:22:39 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1689447 Why players are looking a little different this season.]]>

As baseball season gets into full swing, the MLB is receiving some flack for the uniforms that players are sporting this season.

In the preseason in February, fans noticed that this year’s uniforms were looking a little off. The fabric seemed to be thin and cheaply made, making it so that you could see through the pants. In some photos, the white uniforms appeared to give players no coverage at all.

Other issues include mismatched colors, lack of sweat resistance, and low-quality lettering.

According to NBC, most of the blame for the see-through uniforms has been credited to Nike, not to the uniforms’ manufacturer, Fanatics. According to the MLB Players Association, Nike was pushing their new vapor Premium Jerseys, which Fanatics manufactured, and the upgrades seem to have backfired.

In a memo and an interview with The Athletic, the MLBPA is careful not to place the quality issues on Fanatics, saying that the manufacturer was simply carrying out their instructions and the quality issues were due to standards presented by Nike.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the design changes on this season’s uniforms were designed to enhance performance and had been previewed in previous years including for last year’s All-Star game. Unfortunately, rather than enhancing performance, they’re just invited ridicule from fans and even players.

Los Angeles outfielder Taylor Ward called the material “papery” and players from the Philidelphia Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles told The Athletic that the new uniforms are hated by most of the players in the MLB, one even saying that they look like knock-offs instead of the real thing.

@btomedia

The #Mets released their new City Connect Uniforms today, what were your thoughts? #queens #nyc #baseball #mlb #lgm #lfgm

♬ original sound – BTO_Media

The issue goes further than low quality material and see through uniforms, some teams haven’t even received complete uniforms at all. The Athletic reported that there was a pants shortage in particular, some teams even had to push back pre-season games becasue they had nothing to wear. Newsday reports that the New York Mets haven’t worn their black or blue uniforms this season because they stull haven’t received the correct pants that match the jerseys.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the MLB is hoping to fix all quality and supply issues but the start of the 2025 season. It’s unclear if there’s a chance MLB players could have new uniforms during the 2024 baseball season adn when exactly those fixes will be initiated.

Unitil then, it might just be see through pants and mismatched uniforms all the way through to the World Series, much to the chagrin of fans and players alike.

The 8 weirdest Lin-Manuel Miranda facts https://wegotthiscovered.com/celebrities/the-8-weirdest-lin-manuel-miranda-facts/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/celebrities/the-8-weirdest-lin-manuel-miranda-facts/#respond Tue, 30 Apr 2024 19:15:31 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1688962 ]]>

Lin-Manuel Miranda is slated to compose music for the upcoming Lion King prequel, Mufasa: The Lion King, adding yet another Disney movie to his resume.

The 44-year-old already has quite the career behind him, with multiple Tonys, Grammys, and a Pultizer prize to show for it. Although he’s become a household name, especially for Disney fans and Broadway Geeks, he lives a relatively private life.

Ahead of his next project, here are eight weird, fun, and interesting facts that you may not know about Lin-Manuel Miranda.

1. He was named after a poem

The name Lin-Manuel comes from a poem called “nana roja para mi hijo Lin Manuel,” written by the Puerto Rican poet Jose Manuel Torres Santiago. The poem is a lullaby to the poet’s son, a reflection of the wartorn world he was born into in Vietnam, and praying that he will join his father in a life dedicated to freedom and revolution.

2. He founded a HipHop Improv Group

Freestyle Love Supreme is a hip-hop group that Miranda started in 2004 during rehearsals for his first Broadway musical, In the Heights. Founding members of the rap group include Christopher Jackson, Bill Sherman, and Anthony Veneziale. The group evolved, eventually having its own stay at Booth Theatre on Broadway and a Vegas Residency. Freestyle Love Supreme even had a Hulu documentary in 2020.

3. He was on an episode of How I Met Your Mother

Lin-Manuel Miranda has made a lot of cameos in his career, many of which include spontaneous raps that have no business being that impressive in a sitcom. His various cameos and television appearances include How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, The Electric Company, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and most recently Percy Jackson and The Olympians. Not to mention his various recurring and starring roles across film and television, Lin-Manuel Miranda is everywhere.

4. He’s one award away from the PEGOT

The PEGOT is an achievement earned by people who have won a Pulitzer Prize, an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony. Lin-Manuel Mirada won his first Tony in 2008 for In The Heights and later won two for Hamilton. He has also won Grammys for In the Heights, Hamilton, Moana, and Encanto. He has two Emmy awards, one for Hamilton’s Disney Plus Broadway recording and one for the 67th Tony Awards. His Pulitzer Prize came in 2016 for Hamilton. All he needs is that Oscar.

5. He used to be an English Teacher

Right out of college, the professional wordsmith taught seventh grade, according to a tweet from 2016. He only taught as a regular teacher for a year before becoming a substitute teacher while he worked on his first Broadway musical, In the Heights. Before fame, he also worked as a slushie machine operator and at the McDonald’s cash register.

6. He wrote jingles for politicians

While trying to support himself when he was working on In the Heights, he would write political jingles for candidates in New York City. According to The New York Times, Miranda’s father worked as a political consultant who advised candidates like Fernando Ferrer and Adriano Espaillat. Thanks to his dad’s connections, in his 20s, Mirando wrote English and Spanish jingles for political ads for Ferrerl, Elliot Spitzer, and H. Carl McCall.

7. He wrote a musical about a dead pig

Miranda once shared on Twitter that, at 16, he wrote his very first musical. That musical may or may not have been inspired by an in-class biology project. He says the musical consisted of a fetal pig that had been dissected in science class and was seeking revenge. In fact, Broadway star Michael Moore, who was Miranda’s first director in high school, told Playbill that he can still sing tuned from the 20-minute musical.

8. He starred in Mary Poppins, despite hating Mary Poppins

Miranda once told Vanity Fair that, as a child, he couldn’t get through the Julie Andrews classic Mary Poppins. He said that certain scenes in the movie would just make him cry and he didn’t see the movie all the way through until adulthood. He credits his dislike for the movie to his sensitivity to the minor key. “Feed the Birds” would make him so sad that he couldn’t get through it. Of course, later, he starred as Jack in the 2018 film Mary Poppins Returns.

Hopefully, on his next press tour, the composer, actor, and rapper will share more gems of wisdom and hilarious quirks with fans.

It’s hard not to be jealous when you’re traveling abroad, log in to Netflix, and see that if you just lived in the United Kingdom you could still watch Friends on Netflix. Or if you would just move to Canada, you could finally get around to watching Goodfellas.

To ease your jealousy, maybe it’s time to take a look at these thirteen Netflix shows that many of our international friends are jealous of themselves.

Maybe you’ll learn not to take access to U.S. Netflix for granted.

1. NCIS

Seasons 1-15 of the classic crime show NCIS are all available for your viewing pleasure through a United States Netflix log-in. NCIS is one of those shows you may have caught a re-run of here and there while surfing through channels on cable, but now you can take in Leroy, Abby, Ziva, and Tony in all of their glory. If you love Criminal Minds or Law & Order this is the perfect addition to your “Must Watch” list.

2. The Great British Baking Show

After you’ve watched a crime show that gives you the heebie-jeebies and are in desperate need of something light, look no further than The Great British Baking Show. Delight in adorable British people making delectable cakes, bread, and cookies and the gentle, polar opposition of Gordon Ramsay, judges compliment and deliberate over the mouth-watering sweets. Sure it can be tense at times, but the contestants’ love and support of one another is nothing short of energizing. It’s like Cupcake Wars with 10 times less anxiety.

3. Last Tango in Halifax

Speaking of heartwarming British shows, you can watch four seasons of adorable old British people navigating family, grief, love, and acceptance in Last Tango in Halifax. The rom-com style show follows a recently widowed couple who reunite on a dating app thanks to their grandsons after their respective spouses die. The show navigates the complexities of change and family dynamics with ease and humor and complete and total British-ness. It’s delightful, witty, relatable, and heartwarming.

4. Friday Night Lights

If you love the small-town drama, but with a little less murder, try out Friday Night Lights. You can experience the drama, the epic highs and lows of high school football ( Riverdale, anyone?), and relate to the issues of a rural town in the United States. The characters are dramatic, the drama itself is larger than life and you truly won’t anticipate the twists and turns of a town putting their stock in a high school football team.

5. Total Drama Island

Total Drama Island is a scripted TV show about over-the-top animated teens competing in a reality competition. To call it genius is an understatement. No matter your age, the show is hilarious, and entertaining, and still keeps you on the edge of your seat just as much as an episode of Survivor. There are 54 episodes on Netflix and each and every one leaves you with a cliffhanger.

6. Married at First Sight

In terms of total drama, look no further than the Lifetime classic Married at First Sight. Every episode is like a train wreck, you simply can’t look away. If you’ve never had the opportunity to indulge yourself with such heavenly brain rot, now is your chance. The show uses a “scientific” match-making method to pair up two complete strangers who agree to get married upon their first meeting. Think Love is Blind with the dial set to 100.

7. Alone

For a reality show with a little less drama and a lot more anxiety, you can watch survivalists get dropped in the middle of nowhere all by themselves, trying to outlast their competitors. Alone is occasionally hard to watch (in the best way) as you watch contestants fight for their lives, having no idea how many people are left in the competition. It’s dramatic in an entirely different way and impossible to tear yourself away from.

8. Hoarders

Season 13 of the U.S. version of the A&E classic, Hoarders, is available for your watching pleasure on Netflix. The show follows individuals who have reached a breaking point with their hoarding obsession, giving audiencse an insight into their families, frame of mind, and personal life as they try to overcome their mental illness. The show can be slightly disgusting but also strangely uplifting as you watch each person have their lives turned completely around.

9. Call the Midwife

If you’re a period drama lover, you have access to 12 seasons of BBC’s hit show Call the Midwife. Watch a group of endearing British nuns and midwives serve families in London in the 1950s. The characters are sweet, quippy, and endearing and the show takes you from laughter to confusion to grief in the best way possible. The show has so many seasons for a reason, and you will completely fall in love with the town, the community, and its characters.

10. Charmed

The reboot of the hit 1990s and early 2000s show Charmed kicked off in 2018, and had a successful four-season run. The show follows the same premise: A group of sisters with witchy powers and a knack for getting themselves into trouble. It’s spooky, eerie, and delightfully dramatic with the peace of mind that everything usually turns out okay by the end of the episode. If you grew up watching Wizards of Waverly Place and My Babysitter’s a Vampire, consider Charmed your spooky obsession all grown up.

11. Band of Brothers

The 2001 HBO show is based on Stephen E. Ambrose’s World War II nonfiction novel by the same name. The one-season drama stars David Schwimmer and Damian Lewis. If you love inspiring yet tumultuous stories and are a bit of a history buff this is the perfect thing to add to your next watch list. The limited series is based on real-life interviews with soldiers from the Easy Company.

12. Pokémon Journeys: The Series

After shattering your heart into a million pieces with a World War II drama, piece it back together again with some light nostalgia via Pokémon Journeys: The Series. You can follow our old favorite Pokémon and your new favorite trainers as they embark on adventures and battles, and propel you right back into your Pokémon-card-obsessed childhood.

13. Surviving R Kelly

Surviving R. Kelly details the stories of the women who have accused rapper R. Kelly of sexual assault. Through interviews, hear the heartbreaking stories of his victims and understands the lives, stories, and impact he has had on so many women. It can be a hard and triggering watch, but a meaningful platform for these women to share their stories.

Sure, some countries have The Office and How I Met Your Mother on their Netflix rotations, but chances are you have yet to explore all of the wonders that behold you on your United States Netflix account. Now that you have a list of very exclusive and very addictive must-watches, it should be a couple of weeks at least before you remember that there is anything you’re missing out on.

Who knows, you may even come out with a new favorite show that you can rewatch to your little heart’s content.

Or finally make the move to Canada. The choice is yours.

All Gatorade flavors ranked worst to best https://wegotthiscovered.com/fyi/all-gatorade-flavors-ranked-worst-to-best/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/fyi/all-gatorade-flavors-ranked-worst-to-best/#respond Tue, 30 Apr 2024 10:04:53 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1686820 Which one should you try next?]]>

Nothing says flavorful thirst-quenching like a classic Gatorade.

According to the Pepsico website, there are over 130 variations of the thirst-quenching drink, which comes in Gatorlyte, Gatorade G2, Gatorade FIT, and Gatorade Protein varieties. While many of these variations come in their unique flavors, there are about fifteen that stay consistent and let’s face it, reign supreme.

Here is our definitive ranking of all of them, from worst to best.

15. Grape

Fake grape haters rise up! Lots of people aren’t fans of the flavor that the processed food industry has designated as grape and Grape Gatorade is no exception. The nature of fake grapes, especially in liquid form, is that it tastes like children’s liquid Tylenol. Although for some people the refreshment and the nostalgia hit just right.

14. Orange

Fake orange is another one of those divisive flavors that’s just too far from the real thing, especially in a world where we have actual orange juice. Unfortunately for Gatorade, it’s hard to replace artificial orange flavor with the real thing. Nothing will be as refreshing as a cold glass of orange juice, but if you’re craving electrolyte-infused hydration look elsewhere.

13. Lemon Lime

Lemon Lime Gatorade certainly has its fans, and to be fair, it is a class, especially considering it is the first flavor of Gatorade ever made, according to Time Toast. Unfortunately, the sports drink sometimes comes off a little salty and doesn’t seem to achieve the classic flavor combination as effortlessly as other lemon-lime drinks. It’s by no means a flop, but Gatorade simply achieved an upward trajectory as they continued to release new flavors.

12. Lime Cucumber

Frankly, if you’re craving that lime-cucumber flavor profile it’s best to throw those fruits and veggies in your water bottle, but in your Gatorade. A hypothetically refreshing flavor, Gatorade’s Lime Cucumber comes off a little more artificial than it does refreshing, but it’s still good when you’re in a pinch and need of some electrolytes.

11. Riptide Rush

The one thing dragging down Riptide Rush is whatever flavor it’s supposed to be is extremely unclear. It’s a little bit of grape, a little bit of blue raspberry, and a hint of fruit punch all rolled into one which can be a dream if those are your favorite flavors. If they’re not, the drink can be a touch too overwhelming.

10. Strawberry Watermelon

Watermelon is once again ruining a perfectly good flavor. Poor strawberry, it’s really not her fault. Watermelon often just tastes a little too cucumbery and watery while somehow feeling artificial at the same time. We as a society also attempt to mesh it with other flavors a bit too often and it seldom works.

9. Glacier Freeze

Glacier Freeze is one of Gatorade’s famous Frost flavors and a characteristic of the genre is that the flavors are a little more icy and a little toned down, maximizing refreshment instead of sweetness. This particular flavor is 100% refreshing if not not quite flavorful enough. The hints of cool blue flavor do come through, and they’re delicious, but it might be even better if they could come through just a little bit more.

8. Green Apple

Objectively one of the best Jolly Rancher flavors, it goes fifty for bottled sports drinks. You have to be down with a sweet tooth, and if you’re not the flavor might be a bit much for your post-workout hydration. But if you love an intense flavor to wake up your senses post-fitness routine, this is the perfect flavor to try after your next workout.

7. Strawberry Lemonade

A truly classic combination is certainly interesting when the lemonade isn’t really lemonade, but somehow it still works. You can’t go wrong with a refreshing strawberry lemonade and Gatorade’s rendition is no different. It may not be perfect for physical activity but it’s perfectly refreshing for a picnic or walk in the park.

6. Artic Blitz

One of the best of the Frost flavors, Artic Blitz delivers its thirst-quenching promise. Its elusive flavor is delicious and refreshing and as far as blue Gatorade flavors go (of which there are many) it’s one of the best. Sometimes it’s best not to know what exactly the flavor profile is supposed to be, it leads to nearly perfect, refreshing, and delcious flavors like this one.

5. Strawberry

Strawberry can be 50/50 depending on who you are, but Gatorade seems to know what they’re doing. The flavor doesn’t come off too cough-syrupy and doesn’t try too hard to disguise itself as the real thing. Strawberry certainly isn’t everyone’s favorite flavor, but if you’re a strawberry lover, this one is for you.

4. Glacier Cherry

The elite of the elite when it comes to artificial cherry flavors. It’ ‘s not too sweet, not too intense, and knows its place as a real-life flavor replica. The flavor is classically delicious and refreshing and is the perfect cherry sports drink. Sure, original cherry is good too, but Glacier just takes it to the next level.

3. Cool Blue

While it’s unclear what flavor “Cool Blue” is supposed to be, whatever Gatorade is doing is working for them. The drink really and truly tastes blue in the very best way possible. The drink hits the sweet spot between refreshing and delicious, bordering a somewhat blue raspberry flavor profile. The made-up flavors are much better than trying to replicate real ones, anyway.

2. Fruit Punch

Red Gatorade is simply a classic. The ring it leaves around your lips after you guzzle it down on a hot day is nothing short of nostalgic. Fruit Punch as a flavor in and of itself takes all of us back to childhood birthday parties and classroom pizza parties, but now with some more adult benefits. Some people find the flavor a bit too sweet and sticky, but no one can deny that when you think of Gatorade, this is the flavor that comes to mind.

1. Berry

What’s not to love? Any good Gatorade drinker knows that any and every Blue flavor is superior, but Berry tops all of them. It’s refreshing, delicious, and doesn’t claim to be any fruit it only shares a color with (looking at you Grape). Just imagine, you’re seven years old and you’ve just finished playing soccer. You run off the field to orange slices and a crisp Berry Gatorade. There’s truly nothing like it.

Some of these flavors are harder to find than others, but most of them are worth a try. Next time you’ve finished a workout and want a refreshment maybe go crazy and branch out to a new flavor, it might surprise you.

How did Jerry Seinfeld meet his wife? https://wegotthiscovered.com/tv/how-did-jerry-seinfeld-meet-his-wife/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/tv/how-did-jerry-seinfeld-meet-his-wife/#respond Mon, 29 Apr 2024 17:23:55 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1688914 The controversial start to their relationship.]]>

Comedian, actor, writer, and producer Jerry Seinfeld became a household name in the late 90s when he starred in his self-titled sitcom Seinfeld.

Although the fictionalized version of Seinfeld had quite the dating roster (Screenrant reports the character dated over 73 women), the real Seinfeld had a much more brief, if not slightly controversial dating life, before settling down with his wife in 1999.

According to Distractify, real-life Seinfeld’s pre-marriage roster includes comedian Carol Leifer, Angela Hickerson, Caryn Treger, Monica Yates, Susan McNabb, Jennifer Crittenden, and Tawny Kitaen, and an infamous relationship with 18-year-old Shoshanna Lonstein, who he dated for four years in his 40s. Most of his known exes worked with him in front of or behind the camera during Seinfeld‘s nine-season run.

Jerry Seinfeld met Jessica Sklar at the gym in 1998. She told The New York Times in 2007 that she was going through a difficult period when he approached her on New York City’s Upper West Side. She had just returned from a troubling three-week honeymoon with Eric Nederlander and had promptly begun moving things out of their shared apartment.

Seinfeld had gone up to her to try and make her laugh and because she really wasn’t in the mood for laughter at that moment she walked away, but he persisted, and she actually laughed. In her interview with The New York Times, she told journalist Allen Salkin that when Jerry asked her out she’d told him it wasn’t a good time for her to be involved with someone. But the then 26-year-old ended up telling him the whole story of her relationship and his compassion struck a chord with her and rumors of their relationship began to spread in October of 1999.

Of course, tabloids enjoyed spreading the story that Seinfeld had broken up Jessica’s marriage and she had left her husband to date the comedian. Jessica put these rumors to rest many years later in her infamous New York Times interview, saying that her prior relationship was over before she even met Seinfeld or returned from her honeymoon, for that matter. She said the truth was much less juicy than the tabloids.

People reports that by November of 1999, the pair was engaged, marrying a month later on Christmas day. Less than a year after they got married they welcomed their first child in November of 2000. They now share three children; Sascha, Julian, and Shepard. At 70 and 52 years old, the happy couple has been married for almost 25 years.

‘BUT WHY? What is causing it?’: Routine appointment to clear up eczema leaves doctor with jaw on the floor https://wegotthiscovered.com/social-media/but-why-what-is-causing-it-routine-appointment-to-clear-up-eczema-leaves-doctor-with-jaw-on-the-floor/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/social-media/but-why-what-is-causing-it-routine-appointment-to-clear-up-eczema-leaves-doctor-with-jaw-on-the-floor/#respond Fri, 26 Apr 2024 16:38:04 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1688163 'Alexa, play 'Survivor' by Destiny's Child.']]>

While taking medical advice from the internet isn’t always the best idea, there are some instances where medical knowledge shared on social media might be a good thing to tuck into your back pocket and use down the line.

For example, Cody Jacob on TikTok shared a valuable piece of information on how to differentiate eczema from anaphylaxis, based on his own, unfortunate, real-life events.

Cody had been having a rough winter when it came to his skin. A couple of times a week what he thought was his eczema would flare up, giving him a rash and hives and making his body temperature heat up.

He decided to change his skincare routine in hopes of rectifying his “eczema” flare-ups, which worked for a while until those flare-ups started all over again multiple times a week. Sick of dealing with it, he finally went to his doctor, who panicked upon hearing his symptoms and sent him straight to an allergist. The allergist, who also panicked, told him that no, eczema does not usually feel this way, and he had actually been experiencing symptoms of anaphylactic shock.

@imcodyjacob

Finished testing today and will have some meds by the end of next week 🤣 #allergy #psa #mcas

♬ original sound – Cody Jacob

Cody and his audience were each able to see the humor in an otherwise very terrifying situation. Some people even said they’d had similar experiences of their own. One commenter found out they were allergic to the cortisol boost humans get from waking up in the morning, and another thought the same symptoms were just Bell’s palsy and acne flare-ups. Most people were just impressed by Cody’s composure after casually going into anaphylactic shock three times a week.

Despite Cody’s light demeanor and optimistic attitude, anaphylaxis is a very serious medical condition and you should go to the hospital immediately if you experience any of its symptoms. According to the Mayo Clinic, symptoms include hives, itching, low blood pressure, constriction of airways, vomiting, or fainting. Anaphylaxis is a severe reaction to allergens, and though most allergy symptoms aren’t life-threatening, anaphylaxis releases chemicals that send the body into shock and requires treatment with epinephrine or an Epi-pen.

Cody has yet to share what exactly was causing his thrice-weekly anaphylaxis but said that he’s already had some testing done and would hopefully be on medication soon to stop it from happening again, or at least not as frequently.

Let him be an example to anyone who may get randomly hot, itchy, and unable to breathe that now is the time to take your medical advice from the internet for once and head straight for the hospital.
